Any IT guys? Empty Any IT guys?

I am having a problem with our third party spam filter and SMTP service. We are running exchange 2010 and SMTP should never have been on this machine, but it is. idk why or who did it. Now i need to remove it and i dont know if i have to uninstall exchange or just stop the services until SMTP is uninstalled. Simple to remove I know, just worried I am going to screw up the exchange server if the right steps arent taken...
